2023 WORLD LATTE ART BATTLE Competition Rules 1. Purpose World Latte Art Battle is a new type of tournament for all baristas around the world. Through online and offline stages, we provide the opportunity for international and national baristas to compete and challenge one another. Through this competition, we are going to spread the culture that respects and honors baristas as they share new skills, abilities and various backgrounds. 2. Download the application form - https://forms.gle/ZkinHv1QUp4qfbQ2A * Important notes to follow when filming - Film making a total of 2 latte art patterns (Choose 1 latte art pattern out of 3 given designs and 1 latte art of your own) - When choosing to do the “swan” pattern as one of the given patterns, please keep note of the direction of the swan’s head (Could result in a deduction in points) - The maximum length of the video should be 4 minutes (If longer, it will result in point deduction) - Make sure all movements are filmed fully - There is no regulations for low resolution videos, but it could have some effects when judging - Make sure to film starting from extracting espresso - There is no need for a background music or any explanation about the latte art (The video will be on silent mode when judging) - There will be automatic elimination if the video is edited or fast forwarded at any part - At the end of the video, please make sure the two type of patterns can be seen in full - The order of which pattern you choose to do first (given pattern or original pattern) will not affect judging 4. Other The WLAB Organizing Committee and Coffee TV have copyrights on all coverage, video footage, photos and interviews during the World Latte Art Battle. And 'Coffee TV' will use the materials exclusively. 8. Major Changes Entitlement Someone who loves and cares about latte art regardless of nationality or gender. But, Winners of previous tournaments are not allowed to enter general tournaments, and they can participate in the 'King of Kings' event later. You cannot request a schedule adjustment for reasons such as participation in other competitions during the competition. If you are absent without informing the offline contest in advance, you cannot participate in the next competition. (Unavoidable reasons for non-participation must be submitted no later than 15 days before the off-line contest.)

7. Other

8. Major Changes

Entitlement

Someone who loves and cares about latte art regardless of nationality or gender. But, Winners of previous tournaments are not allowed to enter general tournaments, and they can participate in the 'King of Kings' event later.

You cannot request a schedule adjustment for reasons such as participation in other competitions during the competition.

1. 대회 취지

월드라떼아트배틀은 모든 바리스타들에게 열린 새로운 개념의 온-오프라인 경연을 통해 국내외 바리스타들과 실력을 겨루며 꿈을 향한 도전의 기회를 마련할 수 있는 대회입니다.

본 대회를 통해 선수가 보유한 새로운 기술, 역량, 이력을 남겨 해당 선수를 기리고 존중하는

문화를 확산시키고자 합니다.

2. 대회 일정

참가신청/접수 2023년 9월 4일(월) ~ 10월 2일(월)

예선 32강전(온라인) 2023년 10월 6일(금) ~ 10월 19일(목)

본선 진출자 발표 2023년 10월 20일(금)

선수 오리엔테이션 2023년 10월 23일(월) / 온라인으로 진행

현장 OT 및 조주첨 2023년 11월 8일(수) 오후 2시

본선 16강전 2023년 11월 9일(목)

본선 8강전~결승전 2023년 11월 10일(금)

3. 참가 신청 방법

1) 출품하고자하는 작품을 카메라로 촬영하세요.

3) 촬영한 영상을 보내주세요.

* 영상 촬영 시 주의 사항

- 규정된 라떼아트 1종(3종 중 택1)과 본인 창작 라떼아트 1종을 선보이는 영상 촬영

- 공식 라떼아트 패턴 중 '백조'를 선택할 시, 백조의 머리 방향에 유의 (감점요소)

- 영상 길이는 최대 4분 (초과시 감점)

- 모든 동작들이 충분히 찍힐 수 있도록 촬영

- 저화질에 대한 감점은 없으나 심사에 영향을 줄 수 있음

- 에스프레소 추출하는 모습부터 촬영

- 영상을 촬영하는 동안, 라떼아트에 대한 설명, 배경음악 삽입할 필요 없음

(심사 시 음소거 상태에서 진행될 예정)

- 영상을 편집하거나 빨리 감기를 할 경우 실격

- 영상 끝에는 두 라떼아트가 모두 보일 수 있도록 촬영 후 마무리

- 공식패턴과 창작패턴을 만드는 순서는 심사에 영향을 주지 않음

4. 예선 규정

- 종목 공식패턴 1잔, 창작패턴 1잔 (음용 가능한 라떼로 식용색소, 에칭 허용)

- 영상 구성

1) 에스프레소 추출부터, 푸어링, 패턴 그리는 과정까지 모두 촬영한다.
2) 공식패턴 1잔과 창작패턴 1잔, 총 2잔을 완성한다. (영상 길이 총 4분, 초과 시 감점)
3) 영상에는 에스프레소 추출부터 패턴 그리는 과정까지 편집없이 담겨 있어야 한다.

- 공식패턴 제시된 3가지 패턴 중 택1, 홈페이지(www.worldcoffeebattle.com) 및 커피TV SNS(@coffeetvnpeople)를 통해 확인 가능

- 창작패턴 선수 개인의 창의력을 보여줄 수 있는 패턴 사용.

본인의 창작 패턴이라 할지라도 타 대회에서 사용한 경우, 창의 점수 감점
타인의 창작 패턴을 모방한 경우, 창의적 요소가 없다면 감점

5. 심사 규정

- 월드라떼아트배틀 예선전 진출을 위한 심사는 전문 심사위원단에 의해 선발(총 32명 선발)

- 온라인 예선전 진출 후에는 예선 진출시 전문 심사위원단 점수와 온라인 일반인 투표 점수의 합산으로 선발(총 16명 선발)

- 온라인 예선전 최종 결과는 전문 심사위원단 점수와 온라인 투표 점수를 7:3의 비율로 합산 반영

- 전문 심사위원단은 기술 숙련도, 디자인의 명확성/난이도/창의성/균형감, 청결성 등을 평가

- 본 · 결선에 대한 세부규정은 추후 별도 공지

1위 상금 1,000만원, 트로피, 부상(추후 안내)

8. 주요 변경사항

참가자격 국적, 성별에 상관없이 라떼아트를 사랑하고 관심있는 사람.

단, 역대 대회 우승자(1등)는 일반 대회에 참가할 수 없으며, 추후 진행 예정인 ‘왕중왕’ 대회에 참가할 수 있다. 대회 기간 중 타 대회 참가 등 개인 사정을 이유로 일정 조정을 요청할 수 없으며, 본선 진출이 확정된 선수는 경연일 기준으로 15일 이전에 사무국에 불참 의사를 밝히지 아니한 경우, 차기 대회에 참가할 수 없다.
